What you need

tsp ground cinnamon

egg

tsp ground clove

tsp nutmeg

cup molasses

tsp ground ginger

cup unsalted butter

cup maple syrup

pinch salt

baguette
Instructions
Line an 8x13” baking pan with foil; set aside. Add the sliced bread to the pan, in 2 or 3 rows while slightly overlapping. Start by browning your butter. Add the butter to a saucepan over medium-high heat. Allow to melt and slightly brown (about 3 minutes). Remove from the heat and allow to slightly cool before adding the rest of the ingredients. Once slightly cooled, in a medium bowl, add the brown butter, eggs, milk, maple syrup, molasses, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, ground cloves, and salt. Whisk to combine. Then, slowly pour the mixture over the bread in the prepared pan. Use your fingers to gently separate the slices as you pour. Cover the pan with foil, and place in the fridge overnight (up to 24 hours). Once ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350F and remove the prepped french toast from the fridge. Bake for 28-30 minutes, or until golden. Serve warm with a dusting if powdered sugar and maple syrup if desired. Enjoy!View original recipe
